We run participatory music sessions and projects for older, isolated and vulnerable people in care and community settings across York. We also run a large programme of intergenerational events and activities, which bring together our beneficiaries with local schoolchildren and students. We provide free transport for anyone who needs it, and are supported by a team of dedicated volunteers.
As restrictions have eased, we're now running a full schedule of sessions across the city:
Barstow House Music Group Barstow House @ 10.30-11.45am
Acomb Singers Acomb Methodist Church @ 1.00-2.30pm
Glen Lodge Music Group Glen Lodge @ 1.15-2.30pm
Rolling Tones Tang Hall Community Centre @ 10.15-11.45am
This group is kindly supported by the Postcode Neighbourhood Trust - a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People's Postcode Lottery.
Honeysuckle Singers St Edward the Confessor Church @ 10.00-11.30am
Tower Court Singers St. Joseph's Church Hall @ 1.00-2.30pm
The Monkgate Wellness Choir Theatre@41 @ 3.15-4.30pm
Gale Farm Court Music Group Gale Farm Court @ 3.30-4.45pm
Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to join one of the above groups, or if you have any questions about the sessions. Alternatively, you can watch all of our groups in action in a collaborative recording we created for #MakeMusicDay
Musical Connections is a registered charity number 1165993.
