We run participatory music sessions and projects for older, isolated and vulnerable people in care and community settings across York. We also run a large programme of intergenerational events and activities, which bring together our beneficiaries with local schoolchildren and students. We provide free transport for anyone who needs it, and are supported by a team of dedicated volunteers.
We are hugely grateful to the Postcode Neighbourhood Trust, a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People's Postcode Lottery, who recently granted us £15,000 to enable us to help more vulnerable older people in York to get involved in musical activities with their wider community.
You can watch all of our groups in action in our most recent collaborative recording that we created with all of our groups & intergenerational partners, in our version of Wonder! We even had a go at some sign language in this one - can you spot it?
Fancy joining us? You can find all of the information about joining our groups here.
Please use the contact page to get in touch with us if you would like any additional information. Our contact page is carefully monitored and you should hear from us within a day or two. Alternatively, you can send us a letter and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Our Monkgate group enjoyed a visit from the wonderful Music Education Group - MEG students this week, to learn all things African drumming. We loved learning all about the instruments! We're so grateful to the students for taking the time to visit us! We've got more MEG workshops coming up over the next few weeks and we can't wait 🤩 (P.S We didn't arrange to wear berets... the drums made us do it!) If you want to get involved or would like some more info about any of our groups, don't hesitate to get in touch: 📧: enquiries@musicalconnections.org.uk 📱: 01904 373011 #CommunityMusic #musicyork #yorkmusic #york #PowerOfMusic #PNT #CommunityFund #A4A #victoriawoodfoundation #tworidings
